Men’s Evening at Chamomile

MENS’ EVENINGS AT CHAMOMILE SANCTUARY

According to the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology, men are increasingly aware of their appearance and taking advantage of a wide range of beauty treatments designed especially for men. European men have embraced the spa and beauty treatment arena.

Chamomile Sanctuary, the award-winning luxury day spa at Edinburgh’s West End, is to introduce its own range of treatments for men from 9th April – just in time for Spring!

The treatment menu will include facials, massage, manicures, pedicures, and selected waxing.

Jon Daly, Captain of Dundee United and David Wotherspoon of Hibs were the first to experience a treatment at Chamomile when they both enjoyed a pedicure ahead of this weekend’s match at Easter Road.

Jon Daly said: ‘Feeling good is not just a female domain!  After 90 minutes running around the pitch we feel stress just as others do.  Massage is a perfect treatment for a footballer.

‘All that training and playing football does mean that our feet do ache sometimes too and don’t always look very pretty!  A pedicure is a new experience for me!’

Jilly Kinsella, Director of Beauty at the spa, said: ‘With interest in men’s grooming growing and such a wide range of products available for men generally, it makes sense for us to increase our range to include specialist treatments.  How many of our husbands or partners have tried our products and really appreciated the results!

‘Just as we ladies always want to look and feel good ahead of an important meeting or event for example, and perhaps have a manicure, then so do men!  A professional manicure is sometimes offered at a barbershop as men embrace the pampering. Not only does a manicure feel good, it can be helpful in keeping a man well groomed and polished.’

Mens’ grooming evenings are Mondays only.  Treatments range in price and include £35 for a manicure; £45 for a pedicure; Swedish massage £60 and facial £65.

For further information or to book please call 0131-220 1000 or visit www.chamomilesanctuary.com.  Chamomile Sanctuary was a UK Beauty Salon of the Year finalist at the Professional Beauty Awards 2012.

Chamomile supports Breakthrough Breast Cancer

To mark its nomination as a finalist in the 2012 UK Professional Beauty Awards, Chamomile Sanctuary has confirmed Breakthrough Breast Cancer as its charity partner for the year.

The luxury day spa, discreetly located in Edinburgh’s West End, will work with the charity in 2012 to raise the profile of breast cancer and highlight the importance of regular self-checking with their clients while aiming to raise much needed funds.

Managing Director, Justine Mitchell, said: ‘This charity is a perfect fit for our business and we’re delighted to be able to support the important work they do here in Scotland.

‘Regrettably, breast cancer has become more prevalent in recent years as the importance of checking regularly is paramount.  We’ll be highlighting Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s ‘TLC’ advice on our website.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Scotland.  In Scotland alone over 4400 women are diagnosed and 1000 women will die from the disease in Scotland every year.

‘We are planning to undertake a number of fund-raising initiatives throughout the year from serving pink cup cakes with our tea which many clients enjoy after their treatments to offering other corporate supporters of Breakthrough Breast Cancer a discount on exclusive use of Chamomile Sanctuary.’

Audrey Birt, Breakthrough’s Director in Scotland commented. “We are absolutely delighted to have the support of the Chamomile Sanctuary this year.  Breakthrough are working across Scotland to improve breast cancer detection, provide better diagnosis and find the best, tailored treatments and care for everyone.  We fund Scotland’s only dedicated breast cancer research unit, located here in Edinburgh, to ensure we can make real changes to families affected by breast cancer. The support of the Chamomile Sanctuary will make a real difference to our work here.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a charity registered in England & Wales (No.1062636) and Scotland (No.SC039058).
